"I am a graduate of American University, where I received my B.A. in Art History. After receiving my degree, I continued to further my education by enrolling in courses at New York University’s School of Continuing and Professional Studies. Last year I enrolled in the Core Courses in Appraisal Studies through the International Society of Appraisers (ISA). I successfully completed the course and the qualifying exam. I also completed the 15 hour course and examination on the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice.

In addition to pursuing continuing education, I have worked in the art field for nearly ten years. Since graduating from American I have held jobs with a private art dealer and appraiser, large personal property appraisal firms, an internationally competitive auction house, and am currently managing a nationally recognized gallery, which specializes in the sale of American Impressionist artwork.

As a new appraiser I hope to further my appraisal education through ISA, with the intent of earning my Accredited Member status and eventually my Certified Member status. This scholarship will enable me to pursue these goals."

"I am thrilled and honored to be the recipient of the Experienced Appraiser Scholarship. I have been appraising for over 13 years in Florida in a multi-generational (grandmother, mother and myself) appraisal and estate sale business.

I have recently returned to Florida after a two-year hiatus in Cincinnati, Ohio and am very excited to have returned to Florida and to get back to work. This scholarship offers me the opportunity to attend the Antiques and Residential Contents Course in October that will be an excellent introduction back into the appraisal profession. I am very grateful to the Foundation for Appraisal Education for this generous award."

"I am excited to have been chosen for the Rago Scholarship, 20th century design is a passion of mine and an area that interests me.

I will be using this scholarship to take the Antiques and Residential Contents class in October to expand my knowledge as an appraiser. I currently run my store Braden River Antiques and have done so for the past 6 years and am working on expanding my appraisal business as well."
